Silence, correct understanding, clarity of thinking and reasoning, absolute knowledge, wisdom, freedom, respect, peace

Silence (the silent undisturbed clarity/state/modification of the mind under the absence of restless egoistic impure veil of ignorance), is the most precious thing in this world of human beings/minds that are functioning under the influence of ignorance and egoism, regardless of the different qualities of names and forms that all and everyone inherited from birth and changing/adopted/developed after birth.

Silence, gives rise to correct understanding, or clarity of thinking and reasoning, or absolute knowledge, or wisdom.

Wisdom, gives rise to unconditional freedom and peace in oneself.

Unconditional freedom and peace in oneself, gives rise to unconditional and indiscriminate respect and kindness towards all kinds of diversities being what they are, as they are, transcending all kinds of duality of good and bad, right and wrong, positivity and negativity, purity and impurity, superiority and inferiority, deserving and undeserving, appropriateness and disappropriateness, accomplished and non-accomplished, success and failure, gain and loss, joyful and joyless, wise and unwise, kind and unkind, selfish and unselfish, and so on.

Unconditional and indiscriminate respect and kindness among all kinds of diversities, regardless of what and how all and everything are, gives rise to world peace in the world of many diversities that doesn't belong to anyone or anything.

The mind that is observing all and everything in silence, as well as performing selfless actions under clarity in silence, understands towards the many other restless minds that are behaving in the way that they behave, where the many restless minds are functioning under the influence of restlessness or ignorance, under the absence of correct understanding, clarity of thinking and reasoning, absolute knowledge, or wisdom.

The silent mind is being undetermined and undisturbed by the disturbing ignorant violent aggressive hurtful destructive behaviors of the restless ignorant minds, and doesn't need to question the restless ignorant minds about why they behave in the way that they behave.

The minds that are restless and ignorant, cannot understand the mind that is silent, that is behaving in the way that it behaves, where the silent mind is functioning under the absence of restlessness or ignorance, under the presence of correct understanding, clarity of thinking and reasoning, absolute knowledge, or wisdom.

The restless ignorant minds are being intimidated, offended, and disturbed by the behavior of the silent mind that they recognized as abnormal, inappropriate, non-acceptable, unreasonable, disrespect, wrong, and bad, and they have the urge to be questioning the silent mind about why it behaves in the way that it behaves.

The silent mind doesn't see or take anyone as 'friend' or 'enemy', regardless of agreeable or disagreeable.

Meanwhile, the restless ignorant minds see or take the one that is agreeable as 'friend' and the one that is disagreeable as 'enemy', and there is the natural tendency to protect and support the 'friend' blindly, and to attack and destroy the 'enemy' that the restless ignorant minds perceived as 'intimidation' or 'threat' to themselves and their 'identity and possession', 'desires and ambitions', or 'dominance and superior status', even when none is intimidating or threatening anyone. However, under the influence of dissatisfaction, disappointment, anger, greed, fear, jealousy, selfishness, desperation, pride and shame, and etc, the restless ignorant minds would betray or hurt their 'friend' as well.

The restless ignorant minds are ceaselessly dissatisfying, complaining, arguing, criticizing, condemning, threatening, opposing, protesting, disallowing, disrespecting, causing disturbance and obstruction and destruction towards all and everything that they dislike and disagree with, that they think and believe and judge and recognize as abnormal, bad, wrong, inappropriate, disrespect, non-acceptable, or unreasonable based on their own particular inherited and adopted/developed ideas, beliefs, values, and practices, that are different from or going against their particular inherited and adopted ideas, beliefs, values, and practices, that they think and believe as normal, good, right, appropriate, respectable, acceptable, and reasonable.

The restless ignorant minds are being disturbed, intimidated, or threatened by their own ignorance of being ignorant towards what they don't know and can't understand, such as they couldn't understand the mind that is silent, and hence, they cannot and don't know how to control, or influence, or manipulate, or oppress, or bully, or conquer something and anything (such as the mind that is silent) that they don't know and don't understand, and that incapability to know/to understand/to control/to manipulate/to bully makes the restless ignorant minds very uncomfortable, agitated, or restless.

The silent mind understands and respects the restless ignorant minds being what they are, as they are, where there is needless of argument or criticism, which only wasting the precious energy and life existence and function, that can be reserved and conserved for performing many other beneficial activities/actions that benefit all and everyone and everything.

The restless ignorant minds couldn't comprehend or respect the silent mind being what it is, as it is, and they have intense desire to be interfering, arguing with, and criticizing the silent mind that is silent, that doesn't interfere with anyone, not to say, that doesn't argue with or criticize anyone for being what they are, as they are, even though the silent mind can utilize the existing available energy, life existence and function, knowledge, understanding, experience, talent, skill, and opportunity, that don't even belong to itself, to be performing certain activities/actions and/or carrying-out all its duty and responsibility towards itself and others and the surrounding environment.

The restless ignorant minds become even more offended, dissatisfied, and disturbed (angry and violent) when the silent mind remains silent, and doesn't gratify their desire of what they want (to be engaging in and empowering argument and criticism that derived from and that also feeds/empowers restlessness and ignorance).

It is like the mad person who is holding and wavering some kind of hurtful weapons in both his hands and keeps shouting aggressively towards the others, "Hey, you all stupid wrongful terrible people! Why are you all going away from me? Why you all don't come to me? I want you all to come to me, so that I can shout at you all to express and relieve my anger, so that I can criticize, discipline, punish, and hurt you all stupid wrongful terrible people, so that you all can hear me shouting at you all, and you all can receive criticism and painful punishment from me. You won't be able to hear me shouting all my anger unto you, and you won't be able to receive criticism and painful punishment from me, if you don't come to me, if you are staying faraway from me. Come to me, now! You are bad and wrong if you don't obey me and don't do as what I tell you to do. Look what you did to me. You made me so angry. You are responsible and accountable for my anger. If you don't come to me now as I am telling you, if you don't let me shout at you, criticize you, and hurt you, I will be getting more angry, and I will hurt and destroy you even more!"

How many minds are drowning in such suffering restless disturbed violent state of mind? Plenty.

Functioning under the influence of the veil of ignorance, unwittingly and ignorantly, it is common and natural that the minds are under the state of pain/discomfort/dissatisfaction/unhappiness/disturbance/anger/ignorance/hatred/jealousy/fear/unable to dominate, or control, or over-power something or everything, but they don't know or understand why or what is happening in themselves, and they don't know how to be free from all THAT, and hence, naturally, in order to express and relieve the pain/discomfort/dissatisfaction/unhappiness/disturbance/anger/ignorance/hatred/jealousy/fear/unable to dominate, or control, or over-power something or everything, they inflict pain/damage/disturbance/destruction unto the others and the surrounding environment.

The minds that understand all THAT, they know that all THAT are neither good nor bad.

There is nothing to be arguing or criticizing about the ignorance and the by-products of ignorance in any mind.

The mind only knows what it knows (what it thinks and believes). What the mind doesn't know (what it doesn't think and doesn't believe), it doesn't know.

None can liberate another.

None can remove ignorance in another, for another.

Not even buddhas, or yogis, or gurus.

One can only liberate oneself.

One can only remove ignorance in oneself, by oneself.

While all and everyone and everything can help, show, guide, or initiate the others to be aware of ignorance and the by-products of ignorance.

That's why all and everyone and everything, including this mind itself, regardless of good and bad, right and wrong, agreeable and disagreeable, desirable and undesirable, pleasant and unpleasant, comforting and hurting, constructive and destructive, kind and unkind, wise and unwise, selfish and unselfish, happy and unhappy, peaceful and peaceless, and etc, are the teachers, the teachings, the practice, the realization, the knowledge, or the dhamma itself.

Ignorance is the by-product of ignorance itself.

Ignorance hinders the mind to know and understand everything as it is.

Not knowing or understanding everything as it is, empowers ignorance.

The mind is ignorant towards ignorance due to ignorance.

It has to come from the mind itself, to be aware of ignorance, to have the intense yearning to be free from ignorance, and to have the ceaseless effort/perseverance and determination to be free from ignorance.

And, under such awareness, or condition, or opportunity, or disturbance, or dissatisfaction, or pain, or suffering, or yearning, or effort, it is absolutely possible to be free from ignorance.

Inquire towards public servant and public service

Many minds that are functioning under the influence of the veil of ignorance would interpret 'public servant' and 'public service' as the public servants are the servants that are obliged to serve the public that 'deserve' all kinds of public services, and hence, the public can take the public servants and the public services for granted without showing respect or gratitude.

No doubt that public servants are holding the 'job' or 'duty' to be 'providing all kinds of public services to the public', and there shouldn't be any sense of superiority, but there also shouldn't be any sense of inferiority as well for being 'the public servants' that 'provide all kinds of public services to the public'.

Just as there is neither superiority nor inferiority in those who show kindness to others and those who receive kindness from others.

Just as none are obligated to be kind to one another, while none are obligated to be 'public servant' to 'provide public service' to anyone.

One can be kind to one another, out of freewill, generosity, and correct understanding, similarly, one can be engaging in a 'job' or 'duty' as a 'public servant' to provide 'public service' to the public, out of freewill, generosity, and correct understanding.

Any kind of action, that is being performed either for oneself or for others, regardless of whether the others are one's family and friends or not one's family and friends, and regardless of whether the others are from one's particular community or from the vast diverse communities, regardless of locally or globally, and regardless of it's doing a job being employed by some others or it's running a business that employs some others, or it's a charitable volunteer work for humanity/animals/environment/underprivileged community/discriminated community/exploited community/oppressed community/ill-treated community and so on, all actions are being performed out of one's own freewill, generosity, and correct understanding. There is neither superiority nor inferiority. There is neither more priority nor less priority. There is neither deserving nor non-deserving. There is neither personal nor non-personal.

By looking after the over-all well-being of oneself and performing one's personal duty and responsibility independently and effectively, is also simultaneously contributing and promoting conducive condition/peace and harmony into the surrounding environment that will benefit all and everyone and everything naturally or intentionlessly, and vice versa.

It is not about the public 'deserves' to be receiving 'public service' from anyone.

It is not about, "These are the 'public servants' that 'provide public services' to the public, and hence, they are more superior, and they deserved respect and gratitude from the public."

And it is definitely not about, "They are the 'public servants' that provide 'public services' to the public, and hence, they are merely some inferior 'servants' of the public to 'serve' the public, where the 'public servants' work for the public, where the public pay tax to employ the 'public servants' to provide 'public services' to 'serve' the public, and it is their obligated 'job' or 'duty' to serve the public, and hence, they don't deserve any respect or gratitude for performing their 'job' or 'duty'. They are 'obligated' to 'serve' the public, and the public is their boss/employer, and hence, the public is more superior than the public servants."

That is common incorrect interpretation or understanding deriving from ignorance, particularly due to the wording of 'public servant and public service' instead of 'public facilitator and public facilitation'.

Out of the conscious freewill, generosity, and correct understanding of oneself, each and everyone respect one another as they are indiscriminately and unconditionally, and are being grateful and thankful that there are some people are willingly to serve the community by taking up the job or duty to be 'the public servants' that perform or carryout the job/responsibility of 'facilitating all kinds of public services and conveniences to the public', regardless of with or without taking fixed amount of salary or fees.

Above all, the public service administration from the top managements to the many different departments and operations need to be free from the influence of ignorance and the by-products of ignorance ('corrupted public servants' and 'all kinds of corruptions'), to be supporting and facilitating constructive activities and progress in the world of many diversities that doesn't belong to anyone or anything.

Inquire towards the relationship between respect and discrimination

In the worldly egoistic human's cultural and social belief, values and practice under the influence of ignorance, respect is a form of discrimination towards who deserve or don't deserve respect and who deserve more or less respect from some others, based on the inheritance, lineage, family background, age, gender, sexual orientation, colour, shape, appearance, title, ranking, social status, financial status, position, level of education and certification/qualification, type of work, religion, ethnicity, nationality, behavior, achievement, contribution, and so on.

In nature, all and everyone exist as they are, without superiority or inferiority, without respect deserving or non-respect deserving.

All are existing and governing by the law of nature, of cause and effect.

All are selfless and impermanent.

All are subject to decay and the fundamental suffering of restless hunger and thirst, and selfless impermanent changes.

Regardless of educated or non-educated, majority of the human beings are being conditioned by the worldly cultural and social belief, values and practice influenced by ignorance that emphasized on giving and receiving discriminative respect towards all and everyone based on the different qualities of names and forms to judge all and everything as (more or less) respect deserving, or not, where there is discrimination of superiority and inferiority, and most people are looking forward to somehow be eligible to fit into the category of superiority, either being motivated by themselves, or their parents, or their friends, or their community, or their teachers, or their leaders, or their government body/authority.

Some countries even put it into their law of constitution where people would be prosecuted by law for 'disrespecting' something or someone that the people think and believe as 'higher or highest' respect deserving. People are living under fear towards 'the superiority', or 'the authority', or 'the leader', or 'someone on the top' that is being 'acknowledged' with the 'status of superiority' or 'status of power' by themselves and/or the people, where in certain countries, people who are 'involving' in running the government body, who hold certain 'position' or 'title', would think and believe that they somehow deserve higher respect than anyone else by social cultural belief and practice, and 'by law'.

While within the community, people would think and believe that those who are higher educated deserve higher respect than anyone else, and people who have higher title/class/social status/financial status deserve higher respect than anyone else. Most parents would teach and motivate their children to do their very best to attain the eligibility to fit into the superior status, to gain respect or higher respect from some others who are inferior or less superior than them.

Those who want to practice and realize yoga, must free their minds from such thinking, belief, values and practice. Under the influence of ignorance, quite many yoga practitioners or enthusiasts are still very much being conditioned by such worldly egoistic thinking, belief, values and practice, even if they have been doing some kind of yoga practice regularly for many years, where they still think and believe that 'someone' or 'something' deserves upmost respect or higher respect than the others, and would be disturbed, offended or insulted if someone 'failed' to show 'deserving (higher or upmost) respect' towards that 'someone' or 'something'.

Under the law of nature, there's neither 'respect' nor 'non-respect', there's neither 'respect deserving' nor 'non-respect deserving'. If we want to show respect, we respect all and everyone the same regardless of the different qualities of names and forms, free from being conditioned by the worldly thinking and belief towards what is 'good or bad', 'right or wrong', 'deserving or don't deserving', respecting all and everyone possessing different qualities of names and forms as they are, and all are impermanent.

The thinking and belief of 'who and what' deserve or don't deserve respect and 'who and what' deserve more or less respect from some others, is like the invalid non-existing judgment of 'who and what' deserve or don't deserve to be subject to selfless impermanent changes, decay and disintegration under the law of nature.

The ignorance in the world would eventually leading the world of civilization towards the ridiculousness of "Who is allowed or disallowed to breathe, to think, to believe, to feel, to laugh, to cry, to speak, to see, to sneeze, to fart, to shit, to love, to be kind, and so on, under the law of constitutions of certain countries" run by human beings under the influence of ignorance and egoism.

Respect as in yoga practice

Many people would relate the word 'respect' with respecting our elders, our teachers, our culture, our ancestor, our origin, our leader, our country's law of rules and regulations, the heroes, 'God', 'gods', or what the mind thinks and believes as respectable/honourable or respect/honour deserving. While different minds have different idea towards what is respectable/honourable and what is disrespectable or humiliation deserving, based on their own particular thinking and belief under the influence of particular cultural, social, national, gender, racial, religious, spiritual, political, or philosophical background.

Most minds feel offended and angered by others who don't show the similar 'respect' towards what they think and believe as 'respectable', that they respect very much.

Many people grew up being told by our elders, parents and teachers that we need to be 'good' and 'successful' enough to attain certain 'status' or 'credits' to earn 'respect' from others. Some people even grew up being told that they were born with the special status of 'respect/honour deserving' due to their particular origin/family/racial/social/financial/religious/political background.

In yoga, it's not about respecting what the mind thinks and believes what is respectable/honourable or respect/honour deserving, while disrespecting or humiliating what the mind thinks and believes as disrespectable or humiliation deserving.

It's about respecting the truth of things as it is, not necessarily the way that we think and believe how it should be.

Respecting the perceived reality being what it is, not necessarily pleasant, agreeable, or desirable.

Respecting the law of nature of impermanence and selflessness.

Respecting all the different names and forms being what they are, being different from one another, having different thinking, belief, values, practice, way of life, way of doing things, understanding, misunderstanding, desires, action and reaction, and etc.

Respecting the world as it is, not necessarily the way that the mind would like it to be, or the way that the mind thinks and believes how it should be.

Be free from clinging, craving and longing.

Cultivating dispassion, abandoning passion.

Cultivating clearing and silencing the modification of the mind, renouncing worldly passionate egoistic desire, affair, activity and relationship.

Appreciation without egoistic passionate attachment or clinging towards (falling in love with) what the mind perceives as pleasant, good, right, positive, meaningful, lovable, agreeable, desirable, or enjoyable.

Respecting all beings as they are, even if the mind thinks and believes that they have many imperfections and the mind dislikes and disagrees with them. Need not disrespect, humiliate or despise anyone based on the dislike and disagreement of one's mind.

Renouncing the ego and egoism is the greatest 'respect' in the world of impermanent and selfless life existence. Buddha or Guru didn't need anyone to show 'respect' of certain names and forms to them, but surrendering the ego and egoism is the selfless intentionless respect towards Buddha or Guru and any kind of teacher.

How to break free from fear towards letting go certain thinking and belief?

There's no comment/judgment towards any thinking and belief as true or untrue. Learn to see things as they are. Need not judging or categorizing everything into 'this' or 'that'. Everything is just what it is. Neither good nor bad. Neither right nor wrong. All are impermanent and selfless. Whatever being perceived through the mind in this worldly life existence of names and forms, are all subject to impermanence and selflessness, including all kinds of thinking, beliefs, values and practices.

All kinds of thinking and belief existing for their own reason, for the minds that are under the influence of egoism and impurities to hang onto, to have a sense of direction, while navigating their way in the worldly life existence that is subject to uncertainty, impermanence and selflessness.

It's all about whether the mind is free from egoistic attachment and identification, or not. It's not about which thinking and belief is true or untrue, or which is truer and better than all the others.

Asians are bound by Asian cultural thinking and belief, but are not being bound by the western cultural thinking and belief to live life and behave in certain way. Westerners are bound by the western cultural thinking and belief, but are not being bound by the Asian cultural thinking and belief to live life and behave in certain way. Though both can respect each other's different ways of life and behavior due to the influence of different cultural thinking and belief.

The mind took up and attached onto Christianity or Hinduism thinking and belief and practice, and identifying itself as a 'Christian' or 'Hindu', or as a 'follower' of 'Christianity' or 'Hinduism'. Christians are bound by Christianity thinking and belief and practice, but are not being bound by the Hinduism thinking and belief and practice. Hindus are bound by Hinduism thinking and belief and practice, but are not being bound by Christianity thinking and belief and practice.

Christians have no fear of 'not following' Hinduism thinking and belief and practice at all, but there's fear of 'unfollow' Christianity thinking and belief and practice, fear of sin and punishment and 'The hell for (bad) Christians'. Hindus have no fear of 'not following' Christianity thinking and belief and practice at all, but there's fear of 'unfollow' Hinduism thinking and belief and practice, fear of sin and punishment and 'The hell for (bad) Hindus'. Though both can respect each other's different way of thinking and belief and practice, and their respective 'Hell for their (bad) followers'.

Without taking up or without attachment and identification towards any particular thinking and belief and practice, there's no binding by any thinking and belief and practice, and there's no need of 'unfollow' any thinking and belief and practice, as there's no particular thinking and belief and practice that need to be 'unfollowed'. What is fear of 'unfollow' any thinking and belief and practice?

Those who were never being exposed to or never picked up any particular thinking and belief and practice, or those who have no attachment and identification towards any particular thinking and belief and practice are not being bound by any particular thinking and belief and practice, to live life and behave in certain way. The notion of 'unfollowing' or 'letting go' or 'abandoning' certain thinking and belief and practice doesn't exist at all. Though one can respect all the others with their particular thinking and belief and practice, to live life and behave in certain way, as most egoistic minds/people need to hang onto certain thinking and belief to have a sense of direction in life, but it's unnecessarily for the minds that are free from ignorance and egoism.

Respect everyone being what they are

For the minds that attached onto and identified with the qualities of names and forms to be who/what they are, 'respect' is about showing admiration or acknowledgement towards oneself or others who possess or achieve certain qualities of names and forms that the minds think and believe as 'superior quality', 'higher ability', or 'higher achievement' that deserve 'respect' from others or the world. Most people 'work' very hard throughout their life to earn or gain 'respect' or 'admiration/acknowledgement' from the world, or others, especially those who are 'related' to them in their personal/community/social/professional life.

Whether wittingly or unwittingly, there is discrimination towards the different qualities, abilities/disabilities and achievement/non-achievement determining what and who are worthy or unworthy to be receiving respect from oneself and others.

Most people think and believe that showing/giving 'respect'/'admiration'/'acknowledgement' towards certain higher/superior quality, ability and achievement is a form of generosity/kindness/goodness or positive encouragement to motivate oneself or other people (to be continuously) to strive to be good or be better.

People would feel disrespected, offended, humiliated, belittled, unhappy and angry when they think other people didn't show/give them the 'respect' that they think they deserve to be getting from others.

For the minds that (truly) practice yoga, that are free from attachment towards and identification with any qualities of names and forms, that are free from discrimination towards all the different qualities of names and forms, 'respect' is not about showing admiration or acknowledgement towards 'higher' or 'superior' quality, ability or achievement, but instead, it's abandoning such worldly thinking and belief, values and practice that empowers egoism and ignorance. It's transcending the discrimination towards what the worldly egoistic thinking and belief categorizing as 'respectable' and 'non-respectable'. The mind is free from the desire of craving and aversion towards the worldly idea/values/practice of 'respect and disrespect', 'praise and condemn', 'superiority and inferiority', 'meaningfulness and meaninglessness', and so on.

The one who needs to earn or gain 'respect'/admiration'/'acknowledgement' from others or the world, by possessing or attaining certain higher/superior quality, ability or achievement, in order to be motivated (to be continuously) to strive to be good or be better, the one who needs 'positive inputs/influences', 'positive thinking', 'positive encouragements' and 'the sense of meaningfulness', is the ego. Those who are free from the ego and egoism don't need to be receiving 'respect'/'admiration'/'acknowledgement' from anyone for anything, to motivate them (to be continuously) to be good, or be better. The selfless/egoless minds don't need to have 'positive inputs/influences', 'positive thinking', 'positive encouragements' and 'the sense of meaningfulness'.

Those who know yoga aren't interested at all towards the worldly idea/values/practice of 'one must work hard to be earning or gaining 'respect'/'admiration'/'acknowledgement' from oneself or others by possessing or attaining certain higher/superior worldly or spiritual quality, ability and achievement, and void of lower/inferior quality, disability and non-achievement.

In yoga, 'respect' is part of the effortless manifestation of compassion derived from a selfless 'open-mind' that unattached towards any quality of name and form, being 'non-discriminative' towards all and 'accepting' everyone being what they are, as they are, regardless of all the different higher and lower worldly or spiritual qualities, abilities and disabilities, achievements and non-achievements that present or absent in everyone, even if the worldly minds think and believe and recognize that there is the presence of certain qualities of 'bad' and 'wrong' and the absence of certain qualities of 'good' and 'right' based on a particular social/cultural/religious/spiritual/political/philosophical thinking and belief about what is good and bad, what is right and wrong, where the minds generate dislike and disagreement, where the minds think and believe that they are 'unworthy' of receiving 'respect'/'admiration'/'acknowledgement' from anyone.

Respecting everyone being what they are doesn't mean that one is agreeing and supporting others' thinking, belief, behavior, values and practice that the minds think and believe as 'bad' and 'wrong', but one is undetermined or undisturbed by the existing and non-existing higher/lower quality, ability/disability, achievement/non-achievement that the world think and believe are 'worthy' or 'unworthy' of 'respect', without interference/discrimination/intimidation towards everyone being what they are, as they are. And all are impermanent.

Being 'non-discriminative' and 'respectful' towards all and everyone, or the mind is being 'open', doesn't mean that one should be generously showing/giving 'supports' towards all kinds of thinking, belief, behavior, values and practice in the world, or blind-following, blind-practicing, blind-preaching and blind-promoting all the different kinds of thinking, belief, behavior, values and practice, but it's about being unattached towards or non-associating with all the different kinds of thinking, belief, behavior, values and practice, regardless of whether the worldly thinking and belief referring something as 'good and right' or 'bad and wrong', while being non-discriminative 'respecting' and 'allowing' all these different kinds of thinking, belief, behavior, values and practice being there existing in this world as they are.

This kind of 'respect' of non-discriminative/non-interference/non-intimidation towards everyone regardless of all the different qualities of names and forms is essential for maintaining peace and harmony among all in the world. Be free from the worldly egoistic thinking/belief/practice of "Certain people deserve (higher) respect from others while some others don't, being determined by who/what they are, of their particular background, gender, sexual orientation, way of life, race, belief/disbelief, position, status, caste, profession, ability, achievement, behavior, action and reaction, including what the world think is merit and virtue."

Seeing the truth of names and forms as they are. They are just what they are, neither good nor bad, neither right nor wrong, neither positive nor negative, neither meaningful nor meaningless.

Those who truly want to realize yoga of selflessness/oneness/compassion/unconditional peace need to be aware of the subtle attachment, identification and desire of craving and aversion towards the quality of names and forms projected by the ignorant impure egoistic mind. Learn how to transcend the modification of the mind of all kinds of thinking/belief/values/practice/behavior/habit/desire/intention/expectation/action and reaction.

The freedom of being free from ignorance and the suffering of the consequences of ignorance is attained through the realization of selflessness/oneness/attributelessness/namelessness/formlessness by transcending/going beyond/subjugating the modification of the mind that generates the separateness/duality manifested in the form of thinking and belief that gives rise to the notion of a worldly life existence consisting of 'I and all the others', 'I and my world', 'I and my life', 'good and bad', 'right and wrong', 'positive and negative', 'meaningfulness and meaninglessness', 'respectable and non-respectable', 'praise and condemn', and so on.

Those who know this, they allow everyone being what they are, including whether people want to show 'respect' towards one another, or not. Those who don't know this, they would feel disappointed, offended, disrespected, humiliated, belittled, hurt and angry when they think they aren't getting the 'respect' that they expect to be getting, and they expect all 'good' human beings should behave in certain way to show 'respect' to one another, or else, those who don't behave in such way would be labeled/condemned as 'bad' human beings.

Be free.

About separateness, racism, discrimination and hatred...

Unity doesn't come from making everyone going to the same school getting the same type of education, nor learning and speaking the same language, nor having the same economical and social status, nor having the same cultural values, religion practice, personal thinking and beliefs. It is about learning to allow and respect everyone to be different from one another, to have the different qualities of names and forms, allow everyone to be learning and speaking different languages, to have different economical and social status, cultural practice and values, religious/non-religious practice, personal thinking and beliefs.

The schools with different types of medium in our multi racial country is definitely not the cause of separateness, racism, discrimination or hatred as some people might think it is.

In the school with a specific medium that emphasizes on certain traditional cultural values, language and writing gives us the opportunity to learn about the important traditional values comes from a particular cultural background, and to be able to preserve and pass on all these cultural values, language and writing to the next generations. At the same time, we are also being taught to respect other people with different languages, cultures, religious practice and ways of living, even though we don't know much about all these different qualities of names and forms that everyone has. And it's not necessarily that we have to learn and practice about other people's different types of languages, cultures, religion practice, or ways of living, for us to show respect to anyone who is different from us.

No matter how much differences there are among the different languages, cultural backgrounds or religion practices, we can have one same humanity values that is beyond all the different qualities of names and forms, which is non-discriminative love, tolerance and respect, to live in peace and harmony among all beings who are different from one another.

I had my primary education in Chinese medium and secondary education in Malay medium. My elder sister had both her primary and secondary education in English medium. My two brothers had their primary and secondary education in Malay medium. My sister and two brothers don't know much about the Chinese language and writing, but that doesn't mean that they should discriminate and hate the others who study and know about the Chinese language and writing, or vice versa.

In school and outside of school, we all have friends from different religious, racial, educational and cultural backgrounds. Within our Chinese family, we have mix marriages with Malays, Indians and Europeans. We have many mix parentage cousins.

If we don't have French friends, or Thai friends, or any other different nationalities friends, it doesn't mean that we discriminate or hate them. It is not necessarily that we must have personal friendships with all and everyone to show that we are free from discrimination and hatred. It is no matter we have personal friendships with different types of people or not, we can be friendly and open-minded towards everyone, allowing and respecting all and everyone to be who and what they are.

Even though in the Chinese medium schools, the majority of the students are Chinese, as the Chinese would like to preserve and pass on the Chinese language, writing and culture to next generations. In the Tamil medium schools, the majority of the students are Indians, as the Indians would like to preserve and pass on the Indian language, writing and culture to the next generations. And in the Malay medium schools, the majority of the students are Malays, as the Malays would like to preserve and pass on the Malay language, writing and culture. But, this doesn't mean that we (should) dislike and disrespect other different languages, writings and cultures, if we don't learn or know or practice about them. This is not a reason for anyone to have discrimination or hatred towards other races/cultures who are different from us in this country.

For example, although we don't know about some other countries, or their people, language and culture, but that can't be a reason for us to feel separateness from these countries, or to discriminate and hate their people, language and culture. We don't need to know about certain country, their history background, language, religion and culture, for us to be friendly and respect the people from that country, who are having different qualities of names and forms from us.

Our parents, our ancestor's culture, and our schools teachers (at that time) never told us or taught us to have racism, or discrimination, or hatred towards others who have different religion, race, social status, educational and cultural background from us.

Even among the same nationality, same race, same culture, same religion, speaking the same language, or having the same education, people would still have discrimination and hatred among each other. This reflects that discrimination and hatred is an issue of personal thinking and behavior (under the influence of ignorance and egoism). It is not because of the existence of different types of nationalities, races, cultures, religions, languages and educations.

Even if we get everyone to be learning the same language, same culture, same religion practice, or same educational system, but that doesn't guarantee that everyone will have the same thinking, behavior, personality, values of life existence, and will be respecting and live in harmony with each other. Again, it's about respecting all the different qualities of names and forms that everyone has, and it's not about only to have one same quality of name and form in everyone.

Once we allow and respect all the different qualities of names and forms to be existing in this world, and not trying to interfere with one another different types of thinking, beliefs, values, practice and behavior, nor trying to change others who are different from us to be the same like us, regardless of whether we like and agree with them, or not, then we are going beyond all the qualities of names and forms, realizing the oneness or non-separateness of attributelessness, namelessness and formlessness, which is the nature in all beings of what beings really are.

My parents never went to schools, but we were taught to be kind and respect one another without discrimination, and be tolerant towards others with different skin colours, race, appearances, language spoken, thinking, beliefs, cultural or religious practice, social status, educational and cultural backgrounds. My parents gave helps to many people who needed help or assistance without any discrimination or preference of race or religion. My parents taught us that we don't have to look down on ourselves or anyone else, nor do we need to envy anyone else. Whenever they came in contact with people/beings who encountered difficulty and needed help, they gave their assistance without asking anything in return, even though they were not educated and didn't have much money.

Our school teachers (with different races and religions) and the text books in different mediums at schools (at that time) taught us to be tolerant and respect one another, and to learn how to live in harmony with other people within the family, the neighbourhood, the country, and the world, without looking down on others who are less fortunate than us, and without envy towards others who are more fortunate than us. We were taught to help each other when in difficulties. We were never taught to feel and think that we are somehow more superior than anyone, nor be arrogant, discriminating, racist, or to have hatred towards others who are different from us.

Our teachers (at that time) didn't teach us to discriminate or to hate anyone, not to our family members, our neighbours, our community, other schools students, other races, other religions, other cultures, or other nationalities, even though at schools, we learn about history, geography, science, mathematics, arts, morality and living skills in a specific language and writing. We have different types of competitions at our own school and inter schools, but we were also being taught about sportsmanship.

We don't need to be able to speak specific language or to practice other different cultures and beliefs to show kindness, friendship and respect to other people who speak that particular language, and having different cultures and beliefs. Kindness, friendship and respect is beyond languages, cultures and beliefs.

Most minds and its thinking, belief and behavior are influenced a lot by our parents, our friends, our neighbourhood, our community, our teachers, our education, our cultural values, our religion practice, our social network, our political leaders and public medias, and could be influenced by certain 'selfish people with certain ambition/agenda' and unwittingly developing discrimination and racist type of thinking and behavior, but that only happens to those who are not free from ignorance, egoism and impurities yet, who are still identifying with the mind, the thinking, the beliefs and the egoism that attached onto certain qualities of names and forms to be who we are.

If we know the truth of names and forms, if we are free from ignorance, egoism and impurities, if we let go of the identification with the mind, the thinking, the beliefs and the ego with certain qualities of names and forms, we won't be affected, nor influenced, nor determined by any ideas, thinking, belief, or manipulation, especially coming from 'selfish people with certain ambition/agenda' who intentionally want to create fear that generate discrimination, racism and hatred among one another that would benefit them to achieve their selfish ambition/agenda.

When we know the truth of names and forms - Impermanence and Selflessness, there's needless to have identification with any quality of names and forms. If there's no identification with the different qualities of names and forms, there's no separateness/discrimination between us and everyone else, even though from the appearance, we all come with different qualities of names and forms.

The untrained ignorant egoistic mind is easily being manipulated and influenced by external ideas and information, social and public medias, especially political and commercial influences. Fear is the foundation that gives rise to separateness, racism, discrimination, hatred, jealousy, animosity, self-protection, defensiveness and offensiveness in the minds.

If the mind is free from ignorance, egoism and impurities, if we know the one same nature of everyone and everything, we won't be manipulated nor influenced by any ideas, information, social and public medias, or political/commercial influences coming from anybody or any organizations, whether they are true or untrue, whether they are right or wrong.

Have peace in ourselves by allowing and respecting other beings to be different from us, and not trying to convert or make other beings to be the same like us.

There is nothing wrong with everyone having different qualities of names and forms. It is okay to be different from one another. We just need to allow and respect ourselves and others to be different from one another. Beyond all the different qualities of names and forms, all beings are 'governed' by the law of nature of impermanence and selflessness, regardless of whether under the influence of ignorance, egoism and impurities, or not.

If we don't want to see discrimination, racism and hatred in our society, then stop being one. Most of the time, we don't realize ourselves is also being discriminating when we criticize others for their cultural values/practice and religious/spiritual beliefs that we disagree with and dislike. If others want to be discriminating and racist, that is their freedom of thinking, action and speech.

Oneness, unity, respect, harmony, peace...

When the teachings of yoga talks about Oneness, it doesn't mean that we need to make everyone become physically, mentally or spiritually identical with one another, or to have the same qualities of names and forms, thinking and beliefs, actions and reactions.

It is seeing the attributeless, nameless and formless true nature in all beings which is identical with the universal consciousness, that is beyond all the different qualities of names and forms that everyone has physically, mentally and spiritually, and respect everyone to have different qualities of names and forms from one another physically, mentally and spiritually.

Allow everyone to be what they are, even if we don't like and disagree with their thinking, beliefs, behavior, actions and reactions.

Allow everyone to have different thinking, beliefs, behaviors, actions and reactions, to be different from ourselves. Without trying to control or change others who have different qualities of names and forms, who have different thinking, beliefs, behaviors, actions and reactions, who are different from us, to be like us. But to respect and allow everyone to be who they are, as they are.

Allow ourselves to be different from others.

Just like within our physical body. Every single cell is separated from one another having their own individual life span and qualities, but they all have to 'work' together, performing their individual specific duties and responsibilities, to allow this physical body to be existing and functioning, forming the connective tissues, muscles, bone mass, ligaments, tendons, blood vessels, nerves, blood plasma, glands, secretions, hormones, central and peripheral nervous system, cardiovascular respiratory system, digestive system, immune system, elimination system, reproductive system, the arms, the hands, the fingers, the legs, the feet, the toes, the joints, the skin, the hair, the nails, the eyebrows, the eyelids, the eyelashes, and all the internal organs and sense organs to be 'living' in harmony with one another, and give support to one another. They all are having different shapes, sizes, appearances, features, characteristics and functions, duties and responsibilities.

They come together as one - forming the physical body, but they all are having their own individual uniqueness, different qualities, duties and responsibilities. The hands don't hate the legs. The eyes are not jealous of the ears. The fingers are useless if the arms are amputated. If the nerves that connect the fingers with the central nervous system stop functioning, the fingers can't move. Without the existence of light, the eyes are useless. Every function has to work together, and yet, they do not interfere with one another's duties and responsibilities. They allow each and everyone to perform their respective duties and responsibilities. If one of them stop functioning (or renounce it's duties and responsibilities), it will affect all the other functions, and yet, that is the reality that all the other functions have to accept. The ears or the nose can't get angry with the eyes that stop functioning which will 'increase' the duties of the other senses.

Without the support from the universe to provide energy and all the elements to form and give life to all these cells that form this physical body, there's no living physical body. Without the earth, where are we living on? Without the sunlight, the air, the water, the earth, where do we get food, oxygen and water that are essential for life? Without energy or life force, there's no mind or mind perceptions of names and forms. Without the function of the mind and mind perceptions, the physical body, the limbs, all the senses and sense organs are useless. There's no worldly life experience without energy or life force. What is 'good' or 'bad' beings? What is 'happy' and 'unhappy' beings? What is 'wise' or 'ignorant' beings? What is 'superior' or 'inferior'? What is 'beautiful' and 'ugly'? What is 'pride' and 'arrogance'? What is 'positive' and 'negative'? Who is this 'I'?

Om shanti.

Namaste - Respect all beings as they are...

When we put the palms together in front of our heart, and say 'Namaste' to greet somebody, it also symbolizes the Dharma about respect all beings as they are, and there's no differences nor separateness between us and all beings.

'Respect' in the path of yoga and meditation, is seeing the true and pure nature in all beings, and able to accept everyone as they are, beyond all the different qualities of names and forms that generate separateness and distinguish everyone from one another.

We respect all beings even though we might not agree with their thinking and beliefs, nor support their actions or behaviors.

When we think we need to show 'respect' to those who are elder than us, who are smarter or better experience than us, or who are higher ranking or higher social class than us, who are more important or superior than us, who had helped us and be kind to us, and at the same time we expect ourselves to be respected by those who are younger than us, who are less smart or less experience than us, or those who we think they are lower ranking or lower social class than us, who are less important or inferior than us, and we cannot respect anyone who had not helped us nor be kind to us, who we think and believe they are bad or evil, then this is not the same type of 'respect' that we are talking about in the path of yoga and meditation.

In the path of yoga and meditation, the act of 'respect' is free from superiority and inferiority, likes and dislikes, agreements and disagreements, nor being influenced or determined by the qualities of names and forms, as we see the same universal consciousness in all and everyone.

We show respect to all and everyone as they are, whether human beings or non-human beings, whether good behavior beings or bad behavior beings, whether we agree with them or not, whether we like them or not, whether they are older or younger than us, whether they are higher or lower ranking and social status than us, whether they are richer or poorer than us, disregard what are their race, caste, sect, culture, work, achievements, physical condition and appearance, gender, family and educational background, religious background, nationality, personality, beliefs, friends or not friends, those who like us or dislike us, those who love us or hate us, those who are kind to us or unkind to us, those who praise us or criticize us, and etc.

Only when we know the real meanings of 'respect', we then can be truly compassionate, as there's no more the sense of separateness, superiority or inferiority in us, and this will allow us to be able to be kind and compassionate towards all beings, without being influenced by the different qualities of names and forms that our ego likes and dislikes, agrees and disagrees with. It is being free from egoism, attachment towards the qualities of names and forms, pride and arrogance, judgment, expectation, discrimination, hatred, violence and fear.

Om shanti.

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.

About Yoga

Know thyself. Everything is impermanent and selfless. There is no 'I'. There is no 'I am selfless'/'I am not selfless'. There is no 'I am hurt'/'I need to be healed from hurt'. Non-blind believing, non-blind following, non-blind practicing and non-blind propagating, but be open-minded to inquire the truth of everything. Be free. Be peaceful. Be happy.
