Who or what is there to be under going ceaseless births and deaths?

Upon the realization towards selflessness and impermanence, where there's no existence of an independent and permanent 'I' in all kinds of impermanent names and forms, of sentient and non-sentient beings and objects, then, who or what is under going ceaseless births and deaths, or so called seemingly endless 'reincarnation'?

Who or what, that is 'coming back' again and again into different 'life forms' to be suffering or enjoying, and to be attaining liberation from all that?

There are some genuine buddhism practitioners or yoga practitioners who have intense yearning towards liberation, however, many of them are being so tensed and worried in the present moment now, being doubtful towards themselves, thinking that they are most probably being unable to achieve the seemingly impossible task to exit the 'ceaseless' wheel of births and deaths, or the 'endless' reincarnation, or the 'ceaseless' transitions or rebirths into different names and forms in different realms upon the end of every birth that leads to death, that leading to be having another birth and death, endlessly and accordingly to the respective 'karma' that was being accumulated from countless 'past life existence' in different 'realms', and is continuously and 'ceaselessly' being generated and keeps on accumulating, either wittingly and unwittingly, or consciously and unconsciously, in this 'present life existence'. As for them, 'liberation' is all about exiting the ceaseless wheel of births and deaths in different names and forms in different realms, upon the complete clearance of never ending karma, that seems to be impossible to have an end to it.

If the minds can just shift their attention away from the attainment of the 'liberation' that is about exiting the seemingly endless wheel of births and deaths by the end of this precious human life existence in this 'realm' of human beings, that seems like an 'impossible' task even after stop performing all kinds of so called 'evil' actions and performing all kinds of so called 'good' actions to be accumulating many virtues and merits, but then, to start focusing on attaining the direct self-realization towards the truth of selflessness and impermanence, or the annihilation of the idea of 'I' and egoism, or the annihilation of the veil of ignorance and restlessness, via self-inquiry inquiring towards what is 'I', what is the restless modification of the mind, what is the root cause of suffering, and what is the end of suffering, they will have peace in this present moment, instantly.

Inquire towards why did all the past buddhas in Buddhism and gurus in Yoga emphasize on the self-inquiry and self-realization towards what is 'I', about birthlessness and deathlessness, a.k.a. the void of births and deaths, upon the annihilation of the idea of 'I', upon the annihilation of ignorance, egoism, impurities and restless modification of the mind, or upon the attainment of self-realization towards the truth of selflessness and impermanence in all kinds of names and forms, regardless of 'how much karma have been generated and accumulating from don't know when it all began and when it all will come to an end'.

Meanwhile, all those past buddhas and gurus were continuously performing many kinds of actions in the world until the end of life existence after the attainment of self-realization towards the truth of selflessness and impermanence in all kinds of names and forms, including the limited conditional selfless life existence of the selfless impermanent physical body and the perceptive cognitive intellectual emotional thinking faculty, however, there are no binding 'good or bad karma' being generated that meant to be initiating and fueling the restless endless 'wheel of births and deaths', or what most minds referred as ceaseless 'reincarnation' in different realms, where the main keywords for attaining liberation in both Buddhism and Yoga is non-grasping or non-attachment, selflessness and impermanence, and knowing Thyself, or knowing what is the 'I' that the 'thinking' identifies and believes as 'I'.

What does it mean, about the presence of suffering, the root cause of suffering, the path of liberation from suffering, and the end of suffering, a.k.a. the absence of suffering?

What does it mean, about restless 'births and deaths' of 'I'?

What does it mean, about ceaseless endless 'reincarnation' of 'I' in different 'realms' that are also limited and conditional, selfless and impermanent?

What does it mean, about even if 'I' am in the 'realm' of 'heaven' or 'hell', this is also impermanent, that this will also pass away?

What does it mean, about all kinds of 'realms' are existing and interchanging in this present moment?

What does it mean, about the restless selfless impermanent changes of ceaseless thoughts 'arising and passing away', that generate the ceaseless endless different 'states' of mind, governed by the nature's law of cause and effect in the present moment now?

What does it mean, about upon the annihilation of the restless 'modification of the mind', upon the annihilation of the idea of 'I', upon 'desirelessness', in silence and in stillness, in timelessness and in selflessness, that the wheel of 'births and deaths' doesn't exist, and that 'suffering' doesn't exist?

What does it mean, about 'living' in the present moment, that the only existence is in NOW, and keeps changing selflessly and impermanently?

What does it mean, about the highly importance of 'Thus have I heard' in the beginning of every so called first-hand 'dhamma' in the form of writing or speech as requested/instructed by Siddhartha Gautama Buddha just before he passed away, not to say, in the so many 'second-hand' dhamma, 'third-hand' dhamma, 'fourth-hand' dhamma, and so on?

That's why Siddhartha Gautama Buddha never wanted all his direct teachings or the dissemination of dhamma to be written down in text form, or to be recorded down in any form, and strongly insisted about non-blind believing, non-blind following, non-blind practicing, non-blind propagating, non-worshiping (not to say, non-blind worshiping), and to be inquiring towards the truth of everything via self-inquiry and direct realization under certain observations to be purifying, disciplining and quieting the mind, that enabling self-inquiry and self-realization be happening, as all the uncontaminated teachings or dhamma as what it is, that will free the mind from the suffering deriving from ignorance, is available everywhere inside and outside, and at all time, limitlessly and unconditionally, for all minds to 'know' it, even the most 'evil' minds in the world can 'know' it and be 'liberated'.

Inquire, and be free.

The essentials vs the non-essentials in the path of yoga and buddhism towards self-realization

There's neither right nor wrong, neither good nor bad in the many different types of thinking, beliefs, values, practices, desires and approaches in the world of diversities. There's only pleasant or unpleasant condition and situation in the world deriving from the actions and consequences of actions of the many minds either under the influence of ignorance and egoism, or free from the influence of ignorance and egoism.

Even when the teachings and practice of yoga and buddhism emphasized on the observation of right discrimination, dispassion and the renunciation from all kinds of worldly passionate egoistic thinking, belief, values, practice and desires, in order to allow the mind to inquire towards the truth of everything under a calm and purified mind, free from the influence of all those passionate egoistic thinking, belief, values, practice and desires, it doesn't mean that there's judgment of badness, negativeness, wrongfulness or meaninglessness towards all these conditional impermanent names and forms. All these names and forms are just what they are, neither good nor bad, and they don't have the quality or intention to create harmful effects, unless the minds are functioning under the influence of ignorance and egoism.

There's no problem if the mind is free from the influence of ignorance and egoism, while there will be many unnecessary problems if the mind is under the influence of ignorance and egoism, regardless of whether the minds are inheriting or adopting and following whatever type of thinking, belief, values and practice, and have certain desires and certain approaches towards achieving those desires, or the minds are not inheriting, not adopting and not following anything at all.

It is not that important, about what and how all and everyone choose to live life or don't live life in certain way, believe and disbelieve in certain thing, practice and don't practice, know and don't know, experience and don't experience, eat and don't eat, do and don't do, desire and don't desire, healthy or unhealthy, easy or challenging condition, and short live or long live, where all these names and forms are non-essential or irrelevant towards the attainment of self-realization or the annihilation of ignorance, egoism, impurities and restlessness.

What is important, is the essential universal practice of non-attachment, non-identification, non-craving, non-aversion, non-comparison, non-judgment and non-expectation while experiencing or engaging in any kind of names and forms, on top of the essential universal observations of right discrimination that leads to non-discrimination, openness, non-blind believing/disbelieving, non-blind agreeing/disagreeing, non-blind following, non-blind practicing, non-blind propagating, dispassion, renunciation, seclusion, solitude, silence, mind purification, self-discipline, self-control, self-effort, self-independence, self-inquiry, meditation, perseverance, determination, patience, adjustment, adaptation, accommodation, acceptance, and direct experience, that lead the minds towards the attainment of self-realization or the annihilation of ignorance, egoism, impurities and restlessness, where there is correct understanding, clarity of thinking, uncontaminated reasoning power, self-control, contentment, 'I'-lessness, non-separateness, non-possessiveness, fearlessness and unconditional peace that is determining whether there will be more peace and harmony in the world of diversities, or not.

If without all these essential elements in the minds, then all kinds of names and forms, even if they appear to be good and righteous, positive and meaningful, or pleasant, agreeable and desirable, don't lead the minds towards the attainment of self-realization, or the annihilation of ignorance, egoism, impurities and restlessness that give rise to all kinds of unnecessary suffering or the disturbed suffering states of mind.

Such as eating nutritious pure organic vegetarian food, or living a high quality organic way of life, or performing all kinds of yoga and buddhism practice, or performing all kinds of kindness, generosity, charity, prayers and rituals, or achieving all kinds of success, qualification and recognition, or enjoying abundance and joyful family connection and agreeable social interaction, and etc, might give rise to the momentary sense of satisfaction, goodness, healthiness, positiveness, confidence, accomplishment, happiness and meaningfulness, however, they don't lead the minds towards self-realization or the annihilation of ignorance and egoism, if without incorporating all those essential elements.

If there is aversion, dissatisfaction, disappointment, disturb, anger, hatred, ill will, discrimination, offensiveness, defensiveness, fear and violence arise in the mind towards something that is disagreeable, or there is attachment, identification, pride, superiority, desire, greed, discontentment, craving, clinging, longing, envy or expectation towards something that is agreeable, based on the existence of certain thinking, belief, values, practice and desires, then that indicates the mind is under the influence of ignorance and egoism.

Like wise, if the mind is free from aversion, dissatisfaction, disappointment, disturb, anger, hatred, ill will, discrimination, offensiveness, defensiveness, fear and violence towards something that is disagreeable, or there is void of attachment, identification, pride, superiority, desire, greed, discontentment, craving, clinging, longing, envy or expectation towards something that is agreeable, based on the existence of certain thinking, belief, values, practice and desires, then that indicates the mind is free from the influence of ignorance and egoism.

If the mind desires to be practicing 'silence' or 'mindfulness', and thinks and believes that it is practicing 'silence' and 'mindfulness', but somehow, the mind is being disturbed and annoyed by something that it thinks is disturbing and annoying, that is hindering it from practicing 'silence' and 'mindfulness', then know that, that is not what silence and mindfulness is about.

If the mind 'falls in love' with certain types of yoga and meditation practice and their particular effects, then know that, that is not what yoga and meditation practice is about.

Even when some minds think and believe that they are experiencing certain transcendental experiences, and they think and feel "Wow!" and "Amazing!" and "Incredibly touching!", also doesn't determine that the minds are free from the influence of ignorance, egoism, impurities and restlessness. Because that is already indicating that the minds are still under the influence of ignorance and egoism.

Under the absence of ignorance and egoism of attachment, identification, craving, aversion, judgment, expectation, intention and desire, the minds don't need to experience something "Wow!" and "Amazing!" and "Incredibly touching!" at all, not to say, the passionate egoistic reaction of "Wow!" and "Amazing!" and "Incredibly touching!" upon any kinds of experiences being perceived under the selfless function of the selfless impermanent modifications of the selfless mind.

There's no "Wow!" and "Amazing!" and "Incredibly touching!" in self-realization towards the truth of what everything is, about selflessness and impermanence, in the selfless universal consciousness of non-separateness, timelessness, birthlessness, deathlessness, namelessness, formlessness and attributelessness beyond the momentary selfless manifestation of all kinds of selfless impermanent names and forms ceaselessly arising, changing and passing away, and beyond the existence and function of the selfless limited conditional physical body and the selfless perceptive cognitive intellectual egoistic thinking mind under the influence of ignorance and egoism.

There's no "Wow!" and "Amazing!" and "Incredibly touching!" in silence, in stillness, upon the annihilation of the selfless restless modifications of the mind. All kinds of magical and mystical or touching experiences or perceptions are still within the play of MAYA.

Inquire the truth of everything.

Silence?

Silence?

We might relate it as there's nobody talking or making noises, or it's about being speechless, movement-less, or action-less.

We might understood it as soundless, quietness and calmness of the environment.

Actually, it is silence of the mind.

The mind is silent, the thought-waves are rendered still and calm, being unmoved, undisturbed and unaffected by all the perceptions of names and forms, under any circumstances, even if the surrounding environment is noisy, chaotic, full of all sorts of sounds and actions.

The mind is free from egoism, attachment, identification, judgment, comparison, intention, expectation, impurities, craving, aversion, fear, worry, anger, hatred, greed, jealousy, dissatisfaction, disappointment, hurts, guilt, imagination, assumption, good and bad, positive and negative, elevation and depression, and so on.

In Bhakti Yoga, there are lots of chanting, prayers, Bhajan, Kirtan, listening to the stories of the Scriptures, where all these 'sounds' and 'melodies' will lead one's mind into silence, stillness, calmness, peace...

Are we still looking for a yoga class that is completely silent where the teacher doesn't say anything, or are we looking for a place or environment that is completely soundless to practice yoga and meditation as there are such sayings about "Meditation is based on silence..." or "Yoga class is build upon silence..."?

Om shanti.
